Designing People & Culture pages to showcase careers and company culture

Project Brief

Following the Warner Bros. Discovery merger, the organization needed a way to showcase the scale, diversity, and global reach of its career opportunities while maintaining its colorful and expressive brand personality.

We were tasked with redesigning the People & Culture section of the careers site, developing a system of templated pages and content modules that reflected WBD’s voice, supported multiple internal priorities, and could scale across teams and sub-brands.

Success Metrics

  • Create a templated yet flexible system for brand, team, and location pages

  • Bring the brand to life through expressive, motion-friendly visual language

  • Ensure clarity and cohesion across diverse internal priorities

  • Build an extensible design system for future expansion

  • Deliver developer-ready designs for seamless implementation

The Process

01

Discovery

The engagement began as a templated redesign for three core page types: locations, teams, and brands. However, early UX exploration revealed the need for custom landing pages to introduce and connect these templates effectively.

02

UX Design

The UX team defined page structure and flow, content hierarchy, and connection points between landing and template pages. We also introduced new modules for internal employee initiatives and multimedia integration, responding to the client’s desire to represent their dynamic internal culture.

System Design and Application

I developed a modular design system rooted in WBD’s brand guidelines and expanded it with custom styles to support the People & Culture pages. This included text styles, colors, illustrative icons, variable components, and page layouts designed for scalability.

3.1 User Interface

First I developed a visual direction grounded in expressive color, motion, and brand elements that served as an extension of the existing guidelines.

3.2 Module and Template Development

With the system defined and approved, we applied the visual design and modules to page layout templates.

Results & Reflection

The final system for the People & Culture pages successfully expressed the spirit of WBD - fun, global, and full of life - while meeting the needs of multiple internal stakeholders and teams. We balanced storytelling, scale, and structure to deliver a flexible foundation for future growth.

Challenges

  • The project rapidly evolved from a simple templated scope to a comprehensive redesign

  • Diverse stakeholder needs (recruitment, brand, culture) created complex design requirements

  • Implementation pushed the limits of the client's platform and required close collaboration
